Personal and Other

I Have A PA!

Yes, I thought you should be the first to know. I have a personal assistant*.

After all, this writer life is very difficult. There are too many things to keep track of – and after I kept agreeing to new projects, I knew I needed to become more organised, because otherwise, I was going to forget something and let someone down.

So let me tell you about my PA.

He’s a great guy for agreeing to do this. Really enthusiastic, too, though we’ll see how long that lasts.

But he’s a perfect fit for the role, because he knows my schedule very intimately.

So this is how it’s going to work: he’ll find some time at the weekend to get his planner out and take a look at all the things I have to do. Then he’ll spend an hour or so planning out what I need to do each day that week to make the most of my time, and get as much done on my projects as I can, without dropping anything.

I figured this was a good idea, because when you’re doing this writing lark, it’s hard to keep yourself focused. But I know he’ll organise my week to the best of his ability. That means I don’t have to worry about whether I’m using my time productively or not: that’s a worry for my PA. All I have to do is get everything done on time.

What could go wrong?

*The PA is me. It’s weekend me. Thanks me.
