Hi! Hello! It’s been a while! How have you been?
I’ve been good. Great, actually. I sold two pieces of short fiction last week – which was two more than I ever expected to sell.
At the start of this year, I set myself a resolution: I was going to get my short fiction in as many places as I could this year. I wanted to broaden my portfolio. So I dragged up some of my old stories and edited them so they were a good standard, a wrote up some ideas I’d had brewing for a while, and I started submitting.
I’m now going to be in six anthologies and two magazines this year. And hooopefully I will have two books out this year, too. There will be at least one, because the manuscript is almost ready. The other is still being drafted.
Anywho, that brings me to my main point: now that I’ve actually sold some fiction, I figured I could talk a little bit about my process, so I can help other people do it, too. So I wrote up a little article on Medium: Want to Sell Short Stories? Here’s Your Five-Point Plan.
Excuse the clickbaity title, but a writer’s gotta eat. I promise the information inside is legit and useful.
I’m also planning to write a bunch of advice on Medium for other things I do – for instance, I’m a self-published author, I help run an indie press, and I’m a freelancer by day. These give me plenty to talk about, and lots of useful stuff I can tell people who are trying to walk this path, too. So consider following me on there?

Thanks! Bye!
Congrats, Dewi. You’re on a roll! Inspiring us!
